Pick A Right Niche

Today topic is on “Pick A Right Niche and Products To Promote”.

The first thought of many people when confronted with this topic, is a blank.

Is my niche market really a  Niche?

Can I monetize on this niche market with affiliates products and services?

Questions in the head pop on and on?

Never quite sure whether it is the right decision to make.

Let start with the definition of a Niche Market from Wikipedia.

A niche market is the subset of the market on which a specific product is focusing. The market niche defines the product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs, as well as the price range, production quality and the demographics that is intended to impact. …

What’s next?

If you’re a macho man, you possibly thinking of those outdoor sports or games that interest you the most?

If you’re a mother with young baby to take care of, you’re possibly have challenges and experiences of taking care of a baby like many young mothers do? Does this meant that you could tap on this so called “Niche” market?

The answer to that can be a “Yes” or “No”.

Why is it so?

Yes_It will keep your proposed Niche market business alive longer than most, because you have interest and passion on the subject.

No_It will not get you any where no matter how hard you work on it, simply because that so called “Niche” may be too broad (and subject to too much competition by Biggies) or too narrow (that only a few people like you are interested to spend money on it).

So, we need to have the “No” answer answered first.

The definition of Niche Market must also therefore include enough people interested on the topic and willing to spend money on it (because they felt that could solve their problems or improve their situation they are in).

Let take the example of the second case of a young mother with a baby to take of.

1)Taking care of baby (Too Broad)

2) Baby Toilet Training (Too Narrow_will be solved with few simple techniques)

3) Baby Diapers (About right)

That is a targeted niche. There are MILLIONS of people looking to for these.

You could talk about disposables and washable ones. Pros & Cons. Whether your could get cheap and good ones. What to look for texture, softness, non-rashes,? etc. etc.

So, my advice to all of you is this.

Do not embark on something that you have no interest in it? Also, your niche market must have enough people who have similar interest and experiences and are willing to part their money for solving their problems in hand.

Bye from now.
